Preservation

European Commission on Preservation and Access

The European Commission on Preservation and Access was established in 1994 by a group of scholars, librarians and archivists out of concern for the fate of millions of books and documents that are being threatened by acidification and embrittlement. The ECPA wishes to act as a European platform for discussion and co-operation of libraries, archives, scholars, and (inter)national agencies. National Film Preservation Board

National Film Preservation Foundation (NFPF)
The National Film Preservation Foundation (NFPF) is a nonprofit organization created by the U.S. Congress to save America's film heritage. Working with archives and others who appreciate film, the NFPF supports preservation activities nationwide that ensure the physical survival of film and improve access to film for study, education and exhibition.

National Preservation Office
This is an independent focus ensuring the preservation and continued accessibility of library and archive material held in the UK and Ireland. The Digital Archiving Working Group advises the NPO, British Library and JISC on all aspects of archiving and preservation of electronic information and liaises with the Mellon Microfilming Project Steering Committee on all aspects of preservation using digital media as a surrogate.
